2025 UK Blues Challenge
On Friday 24 October 2025, the UK Blues Federation returned with another electrifying edition of the UK Blues Challenge, staged in the vibrant live music environment of Marshall Studios, Milton Keynes. The evening delivered a showcase of five outstanding blues-rooted acts, each performing for an enthusiastic crowd and a panel of judges tasked with selecting the UK’s representative for both the European Blues Challenge and the International Blues Challenge in Memphis.

Competing in this year’s Challenge were five diverse blues acts, spanning roots, soul, traditional and contemporary blues and blues related genres:

These five acts took to the Marshall Studios stage, each presenting a compelling 25-minute set judged across vocal and instrumental talent, originality, stage presence and blues content, mirroring criteria used at the European and International challenges.
Winner: Emma Wilson
At the close of the evening, Emma Wilson was announced as the winner of the 2025 UK Blues Challenge, earning the honour of representing the United Kingdom at the 2026 European Blues Challenge (to be held in Poland) and the 2026 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee, two of the blues world’s most prestigious competitive platforms.
Emma Wilson is a multi-award nominated British rhythm & blues singer with a growing reputation across the UK and beyond. Hailing from the North East of England, her voice moves effortlessly between raw blues fire and soulful expression, rooted in classic influences while maintaining a contemporary edge. She has earned accolades including Emerging Blues Artist of the Year at the UK Blues Awards and has released several acclaimed albums blending blues, soul and R&B.
